I built SutraBase specifically because I was exhausted by websites snooping on my digital activities, selling my data, and forcing me to upload sensitive files to unknown servers. Therefore, I want to be 100% clear, transparent, and absolutely upfront about how I handle privacy on this platform. I am a developer, not a corporate lawyer, so I am going to explain these technical policies in thorough, plain English.

1. The Core Philosophy: No Files on My Server

The single most important fact you should know about SutraBase is that I do not have a database of your files, nor do I have the ability to see what you are processing.

Unlike traditional 'online' converters that force you to upload your PDF or image to a cloud server (where it is processed and then sent back to you), SutraBase operates on a strict "Local-First" architecture. When you select a file to resize, convert, encrypt, or compress, your own web browser downloads my script and performs the actual mathematical processing locally on your device's hardware. Your sensitive legal documents, personal photos, financial spreadsheets, and private data never travel over the internet to my hosting provider. Once you finish your task and close the browser tab, the temporary memory is immediately cleared by your device. This is the absolute safest way to manipulate files on the internet.

2. No Spam, No Logins, No PII Collection

I strongly believe that utility tools should be accessible. I don’t want your phone number, I don't want your email address, and I don't want your home address just to let you use a PDF merger. SutraBase does not have a sign-up wall, I do not maintain a user registry, and I do not send marketing newsletters. You can utilize every single tool in the SutraBase directory completely anonymously without ever providing Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

3. Browser Storage and Workspace Preferences

To make the site user-friendly, SutraBase does utilize standard local browser storage (specifically localStorage API). This is strictly used to remember your UI preferences, such as whether you prefer "Dark Mode" or "Light Mode," and to save your "Pinned" tools to your customized workspace tab. This data remains entirely on your device and is never transmitted to any external database.

4. Advertising, Google AdSense, and Cookies

I want to be radically honest with you regarding monetization: I do not manually place tracking cookies to follow you around the web. However, keeping the servers running, maintaining the domain, and dedicating hundreds of hours to coding these tools requires financial support. To ensure these tools remain 100% free for students and professionals everywhere, I display advertisements on the platform.

To facilitate this, I partner with Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses advertising cookies (such as the DART cookie) to serve advertisements that might actually be relevant and useful to you based on your browsing history across the internet. This programmatic advertising is what allows me to pay for the hosting infrastructure without ever charging you a subscription fee or hiding tools behind a "Pro" paywall.

Because I hold no personal data on you, there is no risk of data breach regarding your processed files.
